How we work

Seven Spaces

The Seven Spaces Framework is the process architecture of the Digital Space Lab. It is not a linear sequence, but a dynamic cycle where clarity, evidence, creativity, and reflection flow into each other. Each space has its own role, and together they turn complexity into a navigable journey.

Method Lab

The Method Lab is the methodological heart of the Digital Space Lab. It is not a static toolbox, but a living studio for innovation, investigation, and reflection. Here, methods are developed, combined, and adapted to create clarity, generate evidence, and design strategies. Every project that enters the DSL passes through the Method Lab – it is the engine that powers the Seven Spaces Framework.

The Seven Spaces Framework

Clarity

Simulation

Simulation

Every journey begins here. We transform vague questions into precise problem statements, using tools like the Problem Matrix or Target Group Compass to define focus and orientation. Clarity makes complexity manageable.

Simulation

Simulation

Simulation

Before committing resources, we simulate possible research and strategy paths. With methods like PSMEU and VRE, we test scenarios, probabilities, and uncertainties to prepare for the unexpected. This is the laboratory for decisions.

Analytics

Simulation

Analytics

This is where evidence is created. Through network analysis, discourse mapping, OSINT, or forensic methods, we uncover hidden patterns and make invisible structures visible. The result is a deeper understanding of complex systems.

Creative

Navigation

Analytics

Data alone is not enough – here evidence turns into ideas and visions. With Narrative Radar or Vision Architecture, we design future scenarios and storylines that inspire and provide direction. Creativity meets strategy.

Strategy

Navigation

Navigation

Insights and visions are translated into concrete roadmaps. Using the Solution Matrix, Authentic Business Matrix, or AI Readiness Compass, we develop tailored strategies that balance feasibility, resilience, and impact.

Navigation

Navigation

Strategies need steering. The Navigation Matrix, Role Matrix, and Adaptive Monitoring ensure that goals, roles, and processes are transparent, measurable, and continuously adaptable. Navigation turns plans into practice.

Reflection

Reflection

Reflection

Every cycle ends – and begins – with reflection. Here we run bias checks, mirror sessions, and lessons-learned reviews to capture insights and avoid blind repetition. Reflection makes the whole system adaptive and future-proof.

Our Four Method Layers

Signature Methods – The DNA of DSL

The Signature Methods are our most distinctive contribution – exclusive innovations developed inside the Lab. They give DSL its identity and make it unlike any traditional consultancy or research framework.

  • SIPF – Strategically Integrated Prompt Flows, structured sequences for AI-powered knowledge activation.
  • PSMEU – Probabilistic Scenario Modelling, bringing probabilities and uncertainties into scenario work.
  • VRE – Virtual Research Execution, enabling research runs even when data access is limited.
  • Problem & Solution Matrix – systematic pathways from issues to options.
  • Navigation Matrix – connecting goals, measures, and roles into actionable roadmaps.
  • Role Matrix – operationalizing the 4+1 role system for organizations and AI agents.
  • Deep Grid Toolkit – multidimensional mapping to uncover hidden layers of complexity.

“Signature Methods are our DNA – innovative, AI-ready, and designed to make the invisible visible.”

Mixed Methods – The Scientific Foundation

To ensure depth and validity, DSL integrates classical and digital research approaches. These methods guarantee that every innovation stands on a robust evidence base.

  • Quantitative approaches: statistics, forecasting, simulations.
  • Social Network Analysis: detecting communities, actors, and influence patterns.
  • Discourse & Narrative Analysis: mapping frames, storylines, and sentiment.
  • Text Mining & NLP: extracting meaning from large text corpora.
  • OSINT & Digital Methods: investigative analyses across platforms and open sources.
  • Geography & Spatial Studies: linking data to regions and territories.
  • Qualitative approaches: interviews, case studies, document analyses.

“Mixed Methods bridge scientific rigor with the exploratory power of innovation.”

Service Methods – From Lab to Market

Some methods are directly translated into ready-to-use services. They are modular units designed to give clients immediate value without requiring them to navigate methodological complexity.

  • Reputation Mirror – reflecting internal and external perceptions.
  • Narrative Radar – scanning emerging storylines and discourses.
  • Target Group Compass – segmenting and prioritizing audiences.
  • Citizen Science Kits – democratizing DSL methods for education and communities.

“Service Methods make DSL accessible – transforming complexity into clear, usable deliverables.”

Meta-Logic – The Reflexive Frame

The Meta-Logic is the conscience of the Method Lab. It ensures that methods are not used mechanically but critically, reflectively, and responsibly.

  • Bias Checks – exposing distortions in data, narratives, and assumptions.
  • 4+1 Role Model – mirroring every method from multiple perspectives: Analyst, Navigator, Architect, Visionary, and Mirror.
  • Mirror Sessions – structured reflection points within projects.
  • Ethics Checks – assessing the broader social and long-term implications of strategies.

“Meta-Logic keeps DSL conscious – ensuring that innovation is always accompanied by responsibility.”
